I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about favorites. Though I know favorites are not representative of the actual quality of my work, it's important to me to see which of my works draw the most attention and which draw the least. Oddly, my work doesn't get a great deal of views (the most I have on an individual dev is somewhere in the 3500 range and that was on something I did back in 2005) but I see clear trends in favorites. If I upload a full color pic of a female character, it will be tops while a sequential comic page, colored or not, is largely ignored. And I can't pretend that it doesn't affect what I feel like drawing and uploading.

The actual number of comments doesn't affect me much because it's deceptive; I respond to almost all of the comments I get so the number can be quite bloated. The content of comments is much more meaningful than the amount.
