:iconrmartin2819:'s commission completed. I wanted to put her in a more descriptive pose and I changed the weapon because... well I like scythes.

I think I do the dark high contrast stuff a bit too often. But then again, I'm a dark, high contrast kind of guy.

Okay, time to move on...

Thanks for all the favorites! :D The number isn't much compared to the works of others, but it's at the top of the heap as far as my gallery goes...I need to figure out what I did with this image that I'm not doing with my other stuff!

Your lighting is better.

Even though the light isn't heavy, this is executed very well.

Tight job, bro. :thumbsup::)

I'm not the best, but the best of who's not the best! :evillaugh:
Thanks! I've been giving what you said on that last colored piece a lot of thought. My coloring is still a work in progress, and I kind of took it easy on myself by making it a night scene where the lighting is so direct, but I am happy with this. Now to challenge myself further.

Dang! To think that the sketch I remember seeing not too long ago has evolved into this in such a short time... I'm also very fond of what you did with the lighting of this piece, as it really creates a nice mood. From the warrior and scythe to even the blades of grass, it doesn't look like you missed much in working with this. To be honest, I haven't really seen a ton of night scenes I've been as fond of as this one. I do hope that whatever challenges you have in store for yourself in the near future will enable you to keep this kind of work flowing to your liking. Great job! :)
Thanks! I'm trying to master the 'less is more' approach to art and coloring, both for speed's sake and because I've seen work by some pros that can say a lot with less detail. So I'm glad you were able to get the mood I was trying to bring across. To be honest, the coloring didn't take very long at all, maybe four hours. If I didn't spend the weekend procrastinating (Mario Kart Wii still grips me up sometimes) I could probably have had this done two days ago. But, it's done now and I'm happy how it turned out. :)
