I'm back to work on this. I've decided to devote my artistic efforts to Jet Dancer, and finishing this comic will help reinvigorate the momentum I had when I first started drawing her at the beginning of 2009. It's the best display of the character in action.
I'm also going to continue working on the more recent Jet Dancer comic that I momentarily abandoned.
After giving it a lot of thought, I came to the conclusion that Jet is the character I want to draw. Nia is the character I want to write about. Jet is the character I want to build a game around. Maybe there will be a Nia game someday, but I keep envisioning what gameplay in a Jet Dancer game would be like. So while I'm drawing this and that, I'll also be working harder on building Jet Dancer game assets as I go through my schooling.
Good use of angles in this comic page make for a dramatic scene. As usual, the inks are solid and the colors are great, but it's the composition and page layout that make the piece.
Thanks! I like to look at this to remind myself that there is a comic book artist in me somewhere and whenever I feel indecisive, I remember that this is something I can do fairly well.
Wow! This looks so great! I'm really excited with the work you put in here. I'm loving all the angles and your colors are exceptional. You made K'alluvia look good! I got together with and he helped me re-plot my story so it would work better so I'll be posting some of the throw away work soon because I am going in an entirely new direction. I'm even going to work the art differently. I am glad to see you working on this! I really like Jet Dancer! Great work, DM!
Thanks man! I'm glad you're feeling it. I keep looking through my old drawings and these eight pages stand out. They're out of continuity (especially now since I've changed Jet's story) but they're still pretty decent pages that will serve as a great exercise if nothing else. If I can push myself to complete these, I can complete any comic challenge!
