I've been somewhat neglecting my developmental work...time to get back on the ball. I feel like I've been doing too much traditional drawing lately and my comfort with digital art was getting shaky. Gotta maintain a balance.
This one completes the fourth of eight WCL teams. Felt good getting her done.
She has the power to control water. [link] Pretty much a sci-fi version of a waterbender, with the added ability to generate it because it's the magical future where anything is possible. Glad you like!
Always been a fan of Jennifer's. Even though I usually on the fence when it comes to characters with water-related abilities, I think it's Jennifer's pep that makes her appealing. I can also appreciate the fact that she takes her abilities seriously enough, in spite of her personalities and infatuation of Nelson.
Her relationship with Genevieve may be shaky, but sometimes, a little drama doesn't hurt a team. Great to see you get this one done.
Thanks! Jennifer and Genevieve's relationship gets a lot more than 'shaky' as the story goes on. It's got me wondering if there might be a more efficient way of telling the story than comics that still involves visuals...I really want to tell this, or rather, these tales.
I figured a turquoise-ish color was apt for her water-based powers. It may be too dark in this particular image though...tried an extra gradient to strengthen the shading. Glad you like!
I have to agree, the green is not a good choice it seems. Also, she needs wrinkles in her clothing. Not huge ones since it is skin tight, but wrinkles nonetheless. If there is a color I think that matches and can still be close to water base would be blue, plus it goes with the turquoise. Hopefully you are not offended by my suggestions.
Don't worry, it's impossible to offend me. I'm always comfortable with differences in opinion. In the end, I'm going to do what works for me.
Now I figured it out...when you and said "green" you were referring to the yellowish color I chose for her abdomen, arms and legs. That's actually supposed to be gold but I added a gradient that darkened it. It's the same base color I used for her teammates [link] and [link] but I guess the gradient muddled it a bit much. I'm not going to change the base tone but I will get rid of the gradient.
Her relationship with Genevieve may be shaky, but sometimes, a little drama doesn't hurt a team.
Now I figured it out...when you and
