I've been spending more time working on my Jet Dancer graphic novel. I'm not making the greatest progress, but as a wise man once said, it doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop. Or something like that.
This is one of my favorite panels from the book I've done so far. While Jet is known for her happy-go-lucky look, she wasn't always that way. The graphic novel shows the force behind Jet's transition, among other things.
Working on this book has me posting a lot less art than I usually do, particularly when I'm squeezing this in between commissions (that's not the case now, but it was last month). I'm trying to make sure this doesn't go out like all my other comic attempts of the past, where I said I was going to do this and that, but ended up giving up on my projects. So despite a desire to post everything I'm doing, I am trying to do things differently this time around.
Jet Dancer may not be my best idea or deepest character, but something about her is keeping me moving, and I'm feeling good about that. So even though sometimes I feel bouts of self-doubt for various reasons, I'm proud of myself for the progress I've made and will continue to make.
My goal is to have the whole book done by the end of this year, with the first chapter totally finished by the end of April 2014. It's kind of a tight deadline, but I believe I can do it.
